Weed Wiping
We recommend the use of the weed wiper to target certain weed species and take advantage of the difference in height of taller weeds and the shorter plants like grasses and clover which you may wish to preserve. The chemical is only transferred when the tall week comes into contact with the applicator leaving the shorter plants unaffected. As well as being a much more environmentally friendly way of applying herbicides weed wiping is also very cost effective as it uses much less chemical than spraying and there is no waste. Weed wiping can be used on any weed that has a height difference between the weed and the required species. Commonly targeted weeds are thistle, rush, bracken, nettle, ragwort, docks, woodland weeds, rhododendron, gorse etc.
DC Tractors & Fine Turf Machinery carry out weed spraying or weed wiping throughout: Agriculture, amenity, sports grounds, golf courses, Caravan parks, commercial areas, domestic areas, forestry, structures (buildings, bridges etc) and rock faces. Our equipment includes tractors, all terrain vehicles (ATV), weed wiper, boom sprayers, hand lance sprayers and rope access spraying. Touring Caravans $10.28 For a long time the caravan – a travel trailer – was a neglected part of the classic vehicle scene, but now the historic caravan is becoming an increasingly common – and increasingly popular – exhibit at classic car shows. The development of the caravan is a fascinating story, and a vital part of motoring heritage. In "Touring Caravans," expert author Jon Pressnell traces the evolution of the touring caravan in Britain from its earliest horse-drawn days through to the lightweight, aerodynamically styled ‘designer’ caravans of today. This is an absorbing tale of a cottage industry which expanded rapidly in the motoring revolution of the 1930s, as the motor car extended the horizons of the British public; a story of how the caravan evolved from a half-timbered ‘cottage on wheels’ to the mass-produced, streamlined versatile trailer which we take for granted today. This addition to Shire’s continuous coverage of all aspects of classic motoring chronicles the process and brings alive the appeal of the classic caravan, with the help of a fine selection of period photographs. |

Award-winning author-illustrator Greg Foley grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended the Rhode Island School of Design. He now designs and creative-directs Visionaire, V Magazine, and VMAN and lives in Greenwich Village, New York. "Willoughby & the Lion" is the first book in the Willoughby series. |

A Short History of Caravans in the UK $22.42 Richard Hammond has had a longstanding love affair, bordering on the obsessive some might say, with caravans. He has researched their origins and history, celebrity owners, the uses to which they have been put, their place in history, names, jargon, games with, things to do in, recipes to cook in, and future of. He also gives sound practical advice on how to use them to best advantage, race them (ensuring first they are of the nonstatic variety), and how to destroy them in interesting ways (of which he has much experience–80 or so at the last count). An essential guide for any owner or prospective owner or indeed anyone with even a passing interest in caravans, of whatever sex or age, or race, or inclination. Or even perhaps someone with apparently no interest in caravans who might have a previously latent interest aroused. Some even talk in hushed tones of a parallel universe, though he has no personal experience of this, yet. Anything is possible. |

Dr Willoughby DVD $27.98 “Sharp, literate… a memorable British sitcom” – Sunday Herald (U.K.) Onscreen, she is Dr. Willoughby, a compassionate surgeon who saves lives with skill and a scalpel. Offscreen, she is ruthless actress Donna Sinclair, fighting to control her fading career and the sleazy daytime hospital soap in which she stars. Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) is deliciously bitchy as the aging, vain Sinclair in this hilarious send-up of British television. She will stop at nothing to keep her place in the spotlight, from betraying her fellow actors to terrorizing her producer, pilfering toilet paper from the supplies closet and lying her way out of a charity gig. As the conniving, vindictive and utterly insincere Sinclair, Lumley steals every scene. This sharply written British comedy also stars Brian Protheroe (Holby City, North & South), Isobel Middleton (Cracker) and Paula Bacon (Bad Girls). Contains coarse language. (DVD) approx. 144 mins. |

Caravans by Night; A Romance of India $33.9 Purchase of this book includes free trial access to www.million-books.com where you can read more than a million books for free. This is an OCR edition with typos. Excerpt from book: CHAPTER II A PIECE OF COEAL SUNSET was spreading a fan of flamingo plumes above Meera, a native village to the northward of Gaya, when Arnold Trent (unaware that Destiny had been hovering over him since Dana Charteris found the scrap of paper, in Delhi, three days before) clattered out of the jungle and along the nearly deserted main street. At the council-tree, where the headman of the village sat and chewed betel-leaf, he drew rein, listening to a low, eerie wailing that came from one of the whitewashed houses. "It is Chatterjee," volunteered the headman. "His Ratanamma is dead, Dakktar Sahib." Trent swung down from his saddle. "When did it happen, Ranjeet Singh?" "Not an hour past, Dakktar Sahib." Trent’s eyes roved up and down the street. "Where ‘s everybody? Meera looks as if a plague had struck it." Ranjeet Singh, who was a Jain, spat contemptuously. "Some vermin-ridden priests from Tibet are at the Sacred Bo-tree," he explained, "and the worshippers of Gaudama have swarmed thither, like flies to a dung- feast " Trent smiled slightly and moved toward one of the whitewashed houses, swinging along with the leisurely, easy stride of one poised on well-controlled muscles. At the door he paused. It was dark within, and a breath of offal and man-reek greeted him. After a moment he saw, against the darkness, the pale silhouette of a white-clad figure. From this figure came the eerie wails. "Chatterjee " Trent called. The silhouette ceased wailing long enough to quaver: "Dakktar Sahib " The Englishman, his eyes now accustomed to the gloom, strode over to a thong-strung bed and peered down at the form stretched upon it. Unable to see clearly, he struck a match. The tiny flare flickered upon bare brown skin Trent swore. "Stop that damned nonsense … |

In addition to the early industrial entrepreneurs, Nason creativity has benefitted society. Nason was issued a patent for a coffee percolator in 1865, and was an early practitioner of photography. Preston C. Nason, working with Alexander Bell, was the inventor of several devices that helped make the telephone successful. Henry Bradford Nason, for many years a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy, New York, was a pioneer in the study of geology and chemistry, and was a founder and president of the American Chemical Society. Dr. W. Albert Nason was founder of Nason Hospital at Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania.
